A short, steep climb from the Cúber reservoir to a trig point on Mallorca's third-highest peak.
Good for anyone reasonably fit and happy with a few hours on their feet over uneven ground. No special experience needed.
The first stretch is flat, following the canaleta channel that links the Gorg Blau and Cúber reservoirs. Then the path — the one the old snow-gatherers used — climbs gently through holm oak before turning sharply upward. On the col above you pass the remains of a snow pit.
Out of the trees, a narrow stony path picks its way up a steep vegetated slope to the summit and its trig point at 1,118 m, with Puig Major and Massanella filling the horizon. It is rough underfoot with a little easy scrambling near the top — not long, but a proper mountain day.
Guide’s tipShort but steep and stony near the top, with a little scrambling — poles help on the way down. Clear mornings give the cleanest views of Puig Major.
