Let’s Walk !

A lovely classic Mallorcan route, which gives fantastic views of the Sóller valley. It's pretty easy walking along cobbled donkey trails, dirt tracks, country lanes and paths but the initial climb out of Sóller is steep, which is why we've given it a blue boot. We walk through endless olive tree terracing, cross over the single electric train tracks from Palma to Sóller a couple of times, pass tiny homesteads and impressive fincas, and we can enjoy pretty views and the tinkle of sheep bells all the way.

Our destination is Can Prohem, a beautiful and impressive finca (and now guest house), where we can stop for freshly squeezed orange juice and home baked cakes, and enjoy the views from the terrace outside.

We re-trace our footsteps for a short stretch and then descend back to Sóller via a different and equally attractive route.

This is a good walk for warm days as it is relatively short and there are quite a few shady sections through the woods, which offer cool relief.

Fabulous views and a delightful insight into tranquil rural life...
