Easy

Today we head up to Puerto Pollensa for a delightful, easy and classic walk through the Bóquer valley to Cala Bóquer, a pretty shingle beach, which is only accessible by foot. The valley is rich in bird life, so we may get to see black vulture, Eleonora's falcons, buzzards, peregrine falcons and kestrels. We'll take a picnic with us, which we'll have on the beach, and on the way back to Palma we'll stop and take a tour of the impressive Caves of Campanet.

The Bóquer valley lies between Puerto Pollensa and Cala Bóquer on the neck of the Formentor Peninsula. It is an attractive, sheltered valley with interesting bird- and plant-life. Our path climbs gently between the Serra del Cavall Bernat (in which there are several spectacular holes or "windows") and the Creveta Ridge, and towards the end of the Serra we get wide views of the bay across to the rock of El Colomer. We also get excellent views of the whole peninsular at a number of points along the way. Our route is there and back but delightful nonetheless!

The caves at Campanet are some of the most impressive - and least busy - on the island, and are well worth a visit.
